Room for lots of improvement.

the guitar, clicks too much and doesn't give the feel of a real metal. There's no real composition to it at all making the intro is also disappointing. Find a chord progression and base your melody around it(yes even metal has a melody). Also, avoid letting the bass follow the melody or main lead at all costs, especially with something this simple. The bassline should follow the lowest parts of the chord progression. It took me a long while to realize that the bass was playing at the same time as the lead, making it sound clicky.

beat variation

it has some beat variation but some later on would be interesting, whatever you think you should do, go for it. After you finish it, or think it's finished, go back and see about extra stuff you can add to increase the feel.

CRomDayLeR responds:

Hm...ye, thats a good Idea.

I will think about this.

thx for the review!

good

and generic :3

Straight Feedback

The feedback on allot of things even if it's just a sound loop can be hard to make sound right. I commend you on the awesome sounds and frills, you did awesome :3

midi rips eh?

they're better known as OCRemixes if they're done well.

My suggestion to you is do something orriginal instead of 8bit and actually make it sound like you did more than just change the instruments.

I choose rate and hate

I personally like this melody, but you've captured the bad side of my hearing, it's so happy and free it makes me just want to punch somebody.
thanks allot >.<

interesting

I might do a remix myself. I have a little criticism for this, you need the higher tones a little louder and balance the volumes around 0:53

otherwise, great.

Turns me on

Ima be searching your collective body of music for something pumpin' to animate to.

If your ambient is this good...you might have some A.D.D. music xD

snayk responds:

Heh. Glad you liked it. I do have some hectic tracks.

Put Venetian snares to shame.

Venetian Snares is very good with the glitch, but you've utilized a very difficult and complex masterpiece. I'm impressed to my ends of all intelligent music.

InvisibleObserver responds:

Its funny that you say that, I use to quite like Venetian Snares but as I started getting more into glitch and FX modulation, they lost their magic and began to strike me as really lazy. Amen break + drum stutters with the juxtaposition of a choir or strings.

Certain issues

At least I'll give a good review than I get 90% of the time, where people just rate 0 for the fun of it <.<

The start is fairly good. The panning at 00:32 is hard on the ears, I suggest a steady panning from left to right as the pattern plays.

at 00:36 I suggest an something extra, whether you want to add drama or climax at this point is up to you. But you will want drums to come in around this general area, it's the only thing missing from this piece.

So tell me if you used fruity loops...
And if you are, look up how to link automation clips with effects and instruments.
Also, the slicer is a good tool for making your own drum loops, especially with the fruity kick to back up the main drums kick.

If you're not using fruity loops, I can find the software you're using and help you out with it even more ;)

8/10
4/5(for good first)

J3envolio responds:

Cheers for the response there dude! Helpful. I'm using Reason 4 with the Factory Sound Bank for the moment. I did have a quick look into Fruity Loops but didn't take to it. I might give it another shot when I've got some spare time.

have fun;
J3en.

I draw pinups, tomgirls, and the occasional smut. I make music for fun. No Requests.
